ASCI Advertising Compliance

Last updated: 18 May 2026 · Jurisdiction: India
In plain English
The platform automatically scans every listing, profile and brief for ASCI Code, Drug and Magic Remedies Act and NMC Code violations. Forbidden phrases and conditions are blocked at publish. Anything that slips through is taken down within 72 hours of a grievance. You can appeal.

01Scope of moderation

Every Member-published surface — directory profile, clinic listing, brief, product listing, brand storytelling and reply — passes through an automated compliance screen built on:

  • The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) Code.
  • The Drug and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 and its 1955 Rules.
  • The National Medical Commission Code of Ethics, 2023.
  • The Cosmetics Rules, 2020.

02Forbidden phrases and treatments

The platform blocks claims that include — non-exhaustively — "100% guaranteed", "permanent cure", "no side effects", "miracle", "best in India" without basis, and any claim to treat conditions scheduled under the Drug and Magic Remedies Act including cancer, HIV, diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, infertility, sexual potency and 50+ others.

NMC-restricted activities (such as patient solicitation, undisclosed kickbacks, or self-laudatory comparisons) are also blocked.

03Auto-block and takedown

Content failing the screen is auto-blocked at publish with an inline explanation. Content that bypasses automated screening (e.g. image-only claims) and is reported via the Grievance form is reviewed and taken down within 72 hours.
